Week by week

8 weeks, mapped out.

Here's the full arc of the module, week by week, so you know exactly what your family is signing up for.

I

Why We Work

Work as more than a paycheck. Where the idea of work comes from, and what it means that we’re made in the image of a working God.

II

The Value of a Thing

Where value actually comes from, and the difference between what something costs and what it’s worth.

III

Earning

The honest link between work and reward. Your child does a real job for real pay and feels the connection.

IV

Saving

The discipline of not spending. Why a person who can wait has a quiet power — the SAVE jar begins.

V

Giving

Generosity as the cure for greed. Your child gives real money to a real need, and talks about why.

VI

Needs vs. Wants

Wisdom in spending. Telling a need from a want, and seeing how advertising is built to blur the line.

VII

Honest Work

Integrity, fair dealing, and doing good work even when no one is watching — why reputation outlasts a quick dollar.

VIII

A Small Venture

Put it all together: plan, run, and review one tiny real venture, tracking what came in and what went out.

What you'll need

Supplies

  • A notebook to serve as the Ledger
  • A small amount of real coins and bills for hands-on exercises
  • Three jars or envelopes labeled SAVE, GIVE, and SPEND
  • A Bible

Most families already own these. A full printable list ships with the module.

Why it matters

Before money, work. Scripture opens with a God who works and then gives work to the people He makes in His image — not as punishment, but as calling. Money is simply a tool that work creates, and how a person earns, saves, gives, and spends reveals what they actually believe. This module starts where every honest business education should: not with profit, but with purpose.
